To achieve this, a camera system was set up to scan and track the user’s body movements in real-time. The camera detected motion as bright white areas and stillness as dark black areas, effectively creating a black and white representation of the user’s body on the digital canvas.
However, a mere black and white representation was not enough to fully capture the essence of the human body’s expressive potential. To add an artistic touch, a dynamic and constantly shifting background was incorporated. This ever-changing backdrop served as a color palette, enhancing the visual appeal of the artwork
Through a clever masking technique, the colors appeared as if they were emanating
from the user’s body, effectively turning them into a living, breathing brush. With each motion, a new set of colors was unveiled, creating a mesmerizing and immersive visual experience.
The magic happened when the user began to move. As the user moved different parts
of their body, the black and white representation interacted with the background color
palette, causing colors to be revealed in the areas of motion. It was akin to painting with
the human body, where every movement contributed to the creation of a unique and
ever-evolving masterpiece
In essence, the experiment succeeded in creating a novel and interactive digital canvas. It allowed users to express themselves through their body language, converting their gestures and movements into a beautiful symphony of colors and shapes. The amalgamation of human expression and digital technology opened up new avenues for artistic exploration and provided a unique and captivating experience for users to immerse themselves in the world of interactive art.
